Materiel Systems Directorate

Mission

The mission of the Materiel Systems Directorate is to identify and document requirements for materiel approaches that resolve or mitigate gaps in logistics capabilities for the Army. Ensure that materiel solutions are logistically supportable, sustainable, and maintainable before fielding to Soldiers and units. Serve as the soldier’s representative in fielding new materiel solutions.

Primary Functions

• Document material solutions to capability gaps for logistics support and sustainment equipment (Proponent CSS Materiel)
• Ensure equipment being fielded by all TRADOC Proponents is logistically supportable, sustainable and maintainable – Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) JCIDS Assessment/logistics supportability testing
• Represent Chiefs of Ordnance and Transportation, and The Quartermaster General in prioritizing materiel capability requirements determination, acquisition and modernization
• Integrator for Ground Combat Vehicle (GCV) requirements for life cycle logistics support and sustainment planning and execution
• TRADOC Munitions Systems Manager
• TRADOC Program Office (TPO) for Battlefield Recovery including Battle Damage Assessment and Repair (BDAR)
