Mission

The mission of the Combined Arms Support Command (CASCOM) Knowledge Management Office (KMO) is to develop, adapt, and implement Department of Defense (DOD), joint, Army, and Training and Doctrine Command (TRADOC) enterprise Knowledge Management (KM) policies, practices, and technologies within CASCOM and the Sustainment Center of Excellence (SCoE) and the Army sustainment community.

The Knowledge Management Office is a special staff element reporting directly to the Deputy to the Commanding General (DtCG) , Governance and Transformation, and consists of two divisions: the Knowledge Management-Operations Division and the Knowledge Management-Technologies Division.

The Knowledge Management Office has two major functions, as follows:

  1. The development, monitoring and updating of a KM strategy that links CASCOM and SCoE with sustainment Soldiers, Family members, Army civilians, and units through a network of enterprise knowledge sharing, collaboration, and social networking type capabilities.
  2. The assessment and improvement of processes used to create, share, and integrate knowledge within CASCOM and SCoE in terms of Doctrine, Organization, Training, Materiel, Leadership and Education, Personnel and Facilities (DOTMLPF) , across the Army corps enterprises, and in support of Army Force Generation (ARFORGEN).
